Partners are other book clubs and organizations we are affiliated with and Chapters are Settlers’ Book Clubs in other cities.
If you would like to start a chapter, that would be great! You can use my reading list if you live on Treaty 7 territory or use one that is adapted to your location. Please let me know at firstname.lastname@example.org if you start a chapter so I can post it to this website. Thanks!
Chapters and Chat at Forest Lawn Library, every third Monday of the month, presented by 12CSI and run by Michelle Robinson. Check Facebook on the Calgary and Treaty 7 Aboriginal events group for books and dates. From their fb event page: Indigenous Pride with 12CSI, which I’m honoured to work at, runs an Indigenous book club, Chapters and Chat, which is open to the public. You also do NOT have to read the book to attend as the conversations are based on reconciliation and learning from Indigenous about the issues. We give space to Indigenous first to speak then open it up to the circle with guidelines to create a safer space for Indigenous. Anyone interested in reconciliation is welcome.
